  8. 1/2 cup Curd
  9. 1 tsp Baking powder
  10. to taste Salt
  11. 1 tsp Sugar
  12. 1 cup Grated lauki
  13. 1/2 cup Grated carrot
  14. 2 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  15. 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  16. 4 tbsp Oil
  17. 1 tsp Black mustard seeds
  18. 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  19. 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
  20. 10 - 12 Curry leaves

Steps to make to make Handvo

  1. Soak rice and dal separately for 4 - 5 hours, strain it and blend to make a paste.Keep fermentation for 8 to 10 hours
  2. Add grated lauki,grated carrot,salt,sugar,curd,red chilli powder,turmeric powder,grated ginger,green chilli,coriander leaves,baking powder and lemon juice. and mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add black mustard seeds,cumin seeds,asafoetida and curry leaves to crackle.
  4. Add the batter of handvo into the pan and spread it.
  5. Cover it and cook in a low flame for 15 mins.
  6. Flip it and now cook cook for fifteen mins in low flame.
  7. Cut the pieces and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
